The narrator is a mother or grandmother who tells it to her children or grandchildren. The story is told before bedtime, which is why the expression 'bedtime story' became popular. These are stories set in a realistic setting, softened by the worlds of jinn and sorcerers. This book contains an abundance of Hejazi folk tales collected by the author directly from the mouths of storytellers and 'storytellers'. Although the folk tales may be similar in terms of their themes and narratives, each region gives them a flavor that is unique to it, and this is what the Hejaz did as well."
