No one but Daisy can see her dragons. They usually all get along in their own wonderfully chaotic way, but Daisy's dragons aren't just any dragons; Daisy's dragons are her feelings. So, when Daisy is having a bad day, suddenly the balance among the dragons is thrown off. Sadness keeps growing, Anger breathes fire at everyone and everything in sight, and Scared One's screams scatter everyone. Suddenly, some of Daisy's dragons feel bad. And Daisy doesn't want evil dragons.

But Daisy soon discovers that without Anger, Sadness, and Fear, there's no place for her other dragons. Could it be that Daisy needs all of her dragons together to feel truly happy, calm, and brave?

Daisy's Dragons is a conscious metaphor that helps children understand the importance of all their feelings—even negative ones. It points out the necessity of difficult emotions and celebrates their ability to self-preserve, self-esteem, and introspection. After all, you can't be brave if you haven't been afraid first.
