Benefiting the Recipient with an Explanation of Kitab At-Tawhid

Author Name: Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab

"I'anat al-Mustafid bi Sharh Kitab at-Tawhid" (Benefiting the Recipient with an Explanation of the Book of Tawhid) by the Imam and Reviver, Shaykh Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab, explained by His Eminence, the العلامة Shaykh Salih ibn Fawzan. For Tawhid (monotheism) is the origin among mankind, and Shirk (polytheism) is a temporary and foreign element, as Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with both of them, said: "There were ten generations between Adam and Noah, all of them upon Tawhid." The first occurrence of Shirk on Earth was among the people of Noah when they exaggerated in venerating the righteous and made images of them. This led them to worship them instead of Allah. So, Allah sent His Prophet Noah, peace be upon him, to forbid Shirk and command the worship of Allah alone, without any partners. And the Messengers after him all followed this pattern, as Allah Almighty said. As for Shirk among the people of Moses, it occurred when they took the calf, and the stance of Allah's speaker Moses and his brother Aaron, peace be upon them, with them was as Allah narrated in His Book. As for Shirk among the Christians, it occurred after the ascension of Christ, peace be upon him, to heaven, at the hands of the Jew (Paul), who feigned belief in Christ out of deceit and trickery. He introduced the trinity and the worship of the cross, and many paganisms, into the Christian religion.
