"The Book of Worship," also known as "Etiquette of Walking to Prayer," was selected by the reformer Imam Sheikh Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab (may Allah grant him immense reward). It covers the rulings of prayer, zakat, and fasting, following the statement of Imam Ahmad (may Allah have mercy on him): "One must seek knowledge that establishes their religion." He was asked: "Such as what?" He replied: "That which one cannot be ignorant of: their prayer, their fasting, and the like." So, the Sheikh mentioned the rulings of "Prayer," "Zakat," and "Fasting," and added other matters like the etiquette of greeting and seeking permission. He supported this with evidence from the Quran, the Sunnah, the consensus of the Ummah, and the sayings of scholarly jurists. He purified it from innovations or less preferable matters found in the books of some who attribute themselves to the four Imams, even if they were few. He organized it into chapters and authenticated the hadiths he deemed in need of authentication, while omitting some due to their widespread fame. Thus, despite its brevity, this book became an example of meticulous research in these acts of worship, beneficial for beginners, intermediate students, and imams of mosques who lead congregational prayers.
