The best and most complete books of the late grammarians, especially in grammar and morphology, are the books of Ibn Hisham al-Ansari the grammarian. He covered grammar and its subject matter, as well as morphology and its subject matter in his books. Among his intellectual productions are the book “Qatr al-Nada,” “Sharh Shudhur al-Dhahab,” and “Awda al-Masalam.” What a beautiful deed he did, to supplement his text with an explanation of the product of his own thought and the handwriting of his own fingers, and an explanation of his ideas and what he intended by them. How could it not be, when he is more knowledgeable about the terminology of the text and its transmitted ideas?
