Al-Tarsh is an experiment in field collection of oral heritage.

A book that explores how to collect and document oral information, especially those passed down by elderly narrators. The author believes that the narrator carries the oral narrative, folklore, and the treasures of traditional folk literature. He is a living witness to a bygone era. Therefore, the absence of the narrator without archiving his information is a great and irreplaceable loss to the Emirati heritage. The author seeks to preserve identity as a national necessity, after technology has invaded the minds of the new generation, separating them from their heritage and making them distant from their reality. He aims to chronicle folk literature, which narrators carry in their hearts, generation after generation. With the development and diversity of archiving technologies, there has become an urgent need to document and preserve it. The book includes a number of photos of Emirati narrators, who are famous for their memorization of stories in folk literature. The author chose the name "Al-Tarsh" as the title for it; he is the person entrusted with the task of delivering news, a message, or a will.
