xثلاثة أصوات في هذه الرواية. الأول، هو صوت الشيخ عبد الرحمن العائد من النجف إلى جنوب لبنان. الثاني لصديقه أنطوان، الشاعر، والباحث عن هويته بين القرية والمدينة، وبين أصله البروتستانتي من جهة وميله إلى الوجودية من جهة أخرى. وبينهما صوت ثالث: غريس، التي تحبّهما كلاهما، وتحتار في الاختيار بينهما. تدور الأحداث في لبنان أواخر السبعينيات، تحديداً في قرية وديعة تسمى «واصل»، عاش فيها المسلمون والمسيحيون جنباً إلى جنب لوقتٍ طويل، قبل أن ترتفع بينهم جدران الحرب فجأة. تحضر ويلات الحرب الأهلية اللبنانية بكثافة، ولكن من زاوية شخصية، وعبر قصص شخصية، لأبطالٍ فضلّوا أن يخوضوا معاركهم الخاصة، على هامش الحرب الكبيرة. Three voices are present within this novel. The first is the voice of Sheik Abdul Rahman, who returned from Najaf to southern Lebanon. The second represents that of his friend Antoine, the poet who’s searching for his identity between the village and the city, and between his Protestant ancestry on one hand and his propensity for existentialism on the other.
Between the two emerges a third voice: Grace, who loves them both and is perplexed about choosing between them. The events take place in Lebanon in the late seventies, precisely in a friendly village called “Wasel”, in which Muslims and Christians lived alongside for a long time before the fortifications of war between them suddenly soared. The plagues of the Lebanese civil war are heavily present, but from a personal standpoint, and through personal stories, of heroes who have chosen to fight their own battles, on the margins of the Great War.

You may return most new, unopened items within 14 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
You should expect to receive your refund within two weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (2 to 4 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (1 to 2 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (2 to 4 business days).
