This universal water-based primer is great for the perfect preparation for painting.
It is an opaque white primer with absorbent properties.
Gesso Mont Marte can be used on fabric, cardboard, and wood.
After it dries, gesso can be painted with acrylics and oils.
Gesso Mont Marte becomes free of an absorbent surface for drawing.
Apply a thin layer of gesso to achieve a smooth surface using Mont Marte gesso brushes.
It can also be applied with a palette knife for a more tactile effect.
It dries to a touch within two hours, and takes a little longer for heavier ones.

Why use gesso?
Using gesso on prepared canvas gives you a more complete and even surface for your painting.
The smooth surface allows the paint to be transparent and get lost in the fabric texture.
Gesso also reduces the acidity levels of paper and wood, giving your board a different lifespan when using these supports.

You may return most new, unopened items within 14 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
