Manar al-Sabeel fi Sharh al-Daleel

The book "Manar al-Sabeel" by Ibn Dhawyan (d. 1353 AH) is a commentary on the text "Daleel al-Talib li Nayl al-Matalib" by Sheikh Mar'i bin Yusuf al-Karmi (d. 1033 AH). The text "Daleel al-Talib" is one of the important texts in Hanbali jurisprudence. Its author concisely abridged it, mentioning the preponderant and relied-upon opinion in the madhhab. In its introduction, he stated that he only included what was definitively affirmed as sound by the verifiers and scholars, and upon which fatwas are issued among the later scholars of preference and mastery. Among those who took on this task was Sheikh Ibrahim bin Dhawyan, may Allah have mercy on him, who wrote a concise commentary on this text. He sufficed with mentioning the evidence and reasoning, sometimes referring to other narrations on an issue when necessary, especially if the other narration had stronger evidence. He often refers to the preferred opinions of some Hanbali verifiers, such as al-Muwaffaq Ibn Qudamah and the commentator of al-Muqni'. He frequently quoted from Sheikh al-Islam, his student Ibn al-Qayyim, the author of al-Furu', the author of al-Insaf, and others. Sheikh al-Albani paid attention to the hadiths in this book, verifying them in his book "Irwa' al-Ghalil fi Takhrij Ahadith Manar al-Sabeel".
