The book "Healing with the Medicine of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him)" is a remedy for every seeker of health. It is a remarkable work that every Muslim household cherishes. Although its author, Ibn al-Qayyim, wrote it more than 650 years ago, it is a timely work for our generation, as health and natural health products have become an important aspect of many people's lives. The author presents the guidance of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in dealing with various health problems, including the treatment of diseases and preventative treatments for maintaining physical fitness. Since the Holy Quran and the Sunnah (Prophetic traditions) are the two primary sources for the Islamic way of life, it is only natural to refer to them as well in matters of health and fitness. This is the approach Ibn al-Qayyim took, making the verses of the Holy Quran and the sayings of the Prophet his primary reference in matters of health and medicine. The final chapters of this work include an extremely useful glossary of medicines, herbs, foods, and other natural substances that aid in the journey towards better health. "Healing with the Medicine of the Prophet" is a valuable resource for Muslims in every country and every generation. This book, "Prophetic Medicine," by Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya, is presented to readers to provide them with knowledge, wisdom, and insight into treating the ailments resulting from their dissolute lifestyles devoid of faith in their Creator. God Almighty referred to humanity by saying: “There has certainly been for you in the Messenger of God (Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him) an excellent example for anyone whose hope is in God and the Last Day and who remembers God often.” [An-Nur: 33].21) The Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) was sent as a guide and mercy to the worlds, and therefore God revealed to him beneficial wisdom. God Almighty says: “O mankind, there has come to you a good admonition from your Lord and a healing for what is in the breasts and a guidance and mercy for the believers” (Yunus 10:57). The Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) medicine is not limited to spiritual healing, but combines healing of the soul and the body, preparing them for a better life in the Hereafter. We at Dar As-Salam are delighted and praise God for enabling us to publish this authentic book on the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) treatment, as he was a physician for both the soul and the body.
