Al-Burhan Fi Ulum Al-Quran (The Proof in Quranic Sciences)

In this work, the author compiled the Quranic sciences that were previously dispersed in independent treatises, such as the occasions of revelation, understanding the connections between verses, the science of recitations, the inimitability of the Quran, the abrogating and abrogated verses, the grammar of the Quran, the various meanings and analogies, the science of ambiguous verses, the science of obscure matters, the secrets of the beginnings and endings of surahs, and the knowledge of Meccan and Medinan verses. The author attempted in this book to comprehensively cover each science individually and concisely. He would trace its history, enumerate the books written on it, mention the scholars who studied it, then present its issues, clarify the scholars' opinions on them, and transmit the views of exegetes, hadith scholars, jurists,صوليين (usul scholars), Arab linguists, and dialecticians. He divided his book into forty-seven categories, and within each category, he mentioned chapters, benefits, and warnings. The book thus became one of the most comprehensive and beneficial works ever written on the Quranic sciences. Everyone who came after him relied on it, especially Al-Suyuti. The book's style was easy, clear, and literary. It frequently cited Quranic verses and poetic lines, and attributed statements to their original authors.
