Dalā'il al-Khayrat is a book that compiles formulas for sending blessings upon the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The book's full name is Dalā'il al-Khayrat wa Shawariq al-Anwar fi Dhikr al-Salā' ala al-Nabi al-Mukhtar. Dalā'il al-Khayrat spread rapidly throughout the Islamic world, from North Africa to Indonesia shortly after its compilation. Every wealthy person owned a copy, and princes exchanged exquisitely decorated copies. It was held in high esteem by the common people. Everyone who read it experienced a sense of blessing. God mentioned in the Holy Quran: “Indeed, Allah confers blessing upon the Prophet, and His angels [ask Him to do so]. O you who have believed, ask [Allah to confer] blessing upon him and ask [Allah to grant him] peace.” (Al-Ahzab 56) Millions of Muslims recite this book in the East and West, individually and in groups, in homes and mosques, exhausting themselves by gaining the blessings of the Beloved.
