This book has a special taste and flavor among the books that deal with the names and attributes of God. The student of what Ibn al-Qayyim wrote in this chapter finds him talking about a subject that has mixed with his soul and seeped into the depths of his heart. When he talks about it, you do not find him content with quoting from others, or content with referring to books of language, but you find him pouring out to us knowledge that has reached the peak of maturity and has become established in its market. He talks about struggle and suffering, and you are terrified by his foundations, hints, and insights, which make you delighted in what he presents to you, and you find his words flowing through your soul like an electric current that you cannot repel. In all of that, he relies on the method that the people of the Sunnah and the community followed, from the Companions and those who followed them in righteousness after them, and he adorns all of that with the Qur’anic texts and the authentic Prophetic hadiths. In that, he is correct and he is wrong, and he shows the flaws of those who have gone astray in this matter, and he shows the dangerous consequences that result from their statements, because the opposing methods act as a veil that prevents Among the things that are to be praised is that the scholar Ibn al-Qayyim, may God have mercy on him, established many principles, making them a control for the truth in this matter, and negating the falsehood that it was entangled in, and correcting what those who went astray on this path went to.
