A book about the virtue of patience and gratitude, written by Ibn Qayyim al-Jawziyya. The book deals with sayings from the interpretation of the Holy Quran and noble prophetic hadiths attributed to their sources, and issues of jurisprudence established with evidence and behavioral subtleties on the right path, the knowledge of which is not hidden from anyone who thinks and prepares his mind. Ibn Qayyim says at the beginning of this book: “Since faith is two halves: half patience and half gratitude, it is true for whoever advises himself, loves his salvation and prefers his happiness, not to neglect these two great principles.” Therefore, this book was written to highlight the great need and necessity for them, and to explain that the happiness of this world and the hereafter depends on them. It came as a comprehensive, inclusive and beneficial book.
