Al-Muharrir, the book of Hadith by Ibn Abd al-Hadi al-Hanbali, is one of the most important books compiled on the hadiths of rulings. It is also considered one of the most important books of evidence for the Hanbali school of thought, and the author selected it from the famous books of Sunnah. In the introduction to the book, he said: “As for what follows, this is a summary that includes a number of prophetic hadiths on legal rulings, which I have selected from the books of the famous imams and reliable hadith masters, such as the Musnad of Imam Ahmad ibn Hanbal, the Sahihs of al-Bukhari and Muslim, the Sunan of Abu Dawud, Ibn Majah, and al-Nasa’i, the Jami’ of Abu ‘Isa al-Tirmidhi, the Sahih of Abu Bakr ibn Khuzaymah, the Book of Types and Divisions by Abu Hatim ibn Hayyan, and the book: al-Mustadrak by al-Hakim Abu ‘Abdullah.” Al-Naysaburi, Al-Bayhaqi's "Al-Sunan Al-Kabir", and other well-known books. I have mentioned some of the authentic or weak hadiths, and discussed some of their narrators, whether they were criticized or praised. I have endeavored to abbreviate and clarify their wording, and I have arranged them according to the order of some of the jurists of our time to facilitate its examination. Whatever is agreed upon in it is what Al-Bukhari and Muslim agreed upon in its narration, and I may have mentioned some of the traditions of the Companions, may Allah be pleased with them all. And Allah is the One responsible for making this beneficial to us and to whoever reads it, memorizes it, or looks into it, and for making it sincere for His noble sake, deserving of His pleasure. Indeed, He is capable of all things, and He is sufficient for us, and He is the best Disposer of affairs.
