Author's name: Abu al-Hasan Ali ibn Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Abi al-Izz al-Hanafi
Because of the importance of knowing the circumstances of the Prophet’s biography, scholars raced to document it with chains of transmission and in biographies, between long and short, prose and poetry.
Among those who contributed to this was Imam Abu al-Hasan Ali ibn Ali ibn Muhammad ibn Abi al-Izz al-Hanafi, who composed a concise and comprehensive poem about the life of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, from his birth to his death, in a poem of one hundred verses in the rajaz meter, which he called: “The Hundredth Poem on the State of the Most Noble of Creation.”
Because of its comprehensiveness, brevity, and people’s need for it, I verified it from five handwritten copies, within the “Additional Texts” series, from the “Texts for the Student of Knowledge” series, so that it appears as its author put it.
