The conflict between Shiites and Shi'ism began when Shiites distorted the meaning of Shi'ism from loving Imam Ali and the Prophet's Household to directly criticizing and defaming the Rightly-Guided Caliphs, and indirectly defaming Imam Ali and his Household. This book, "Shi'ism and Correction: The Conflict Between Shiites and Shi'ism," by Imam Sayyid Abu al-Hasan al-Musawi al-Isfahani, includes a theoretical study that explains the concepts of Imamate and Caliphate in social thought during the second century AH. It also clarifies Imam Ali's position on the Caliphate and the positions of the Companions, peace be upon them, on this issue. In addition, the study discusses theoretical and practical extremism, highlighting the exceptions to some heresies. It touches on the topics of increasing the shrines of the Imams, the Battle of the Shrines on the Day of Ashura, temporary marriage, prostration on the soil of Hussein, Friday prayers, combining prayers, the Return (raj'ah) and the Bad' (innovation). The study then discusses the necessity of separating divine commands from the personal desires of the Prophet, and the pledge of allegiance to the Imam and the Caliphs. If we return to the purpose of this book, we find that the author intended it, according to his words, “to be a call to the Shiites, a source of absolute faith in God and the eternal message of Islam, and in the strength of Muslims and the dignity of man. This call calls for major reform methods to try to end the sectarian dispute between the Shiites and other Islamic sects forever. It is a sanctity for God, and for the awakening of the Shiites from a deep sleep that lasted one thousand two hundred years. It is the story of the conflict between Muslims up to this day.”
