The stories of the prophets in the Holy Quran are stories of the elite and best of creation. They are the guides of the worlds and God's mercy to all people. God did not relate the stories in the Holy Quran for amusement and distraction, but rather they came as a lesson and a moral for those of understanding. They came to provoke contemplation and reflection on the laws of life, the foundations of human society, and the lives of people across time and space. Although our Lord, Blessed and Exalted be He, bestowed upon us the blessing of stories from a group of the prophets and their peoples, he draws attention to the fact that what is important in the history of these great people is that we stop at the point of admonition and moral instruction. The interpreter and hafiz Ibn Kathir adopted a wonderful scientific approach in presenting these Quranic stories, in which he attempted to avoid the fables of the Israelite traditions, the nonsense of storytellers, and the lies of some historians.
