It continues Abdel Rahman Munif's journey in the prisons of the Arab world after the novel "East of the Mediterranean", which he published 15 years ago, as if to say that the passage of time in this part of the world has no effect on the relationship between the authorities and the citizens. As in the East of the Mediterranean, place and time are not defined, but rather are camouflaged, as Munif invents two states (Amorium and Moran) that are two images of the reality experienced by the peoples of the Arab world in general.
