Abu Bakr Al-Siddiq (Abdullah ibn Abi Quhafah) was the first of the Rightly Guided Caliphs, the best of the Companions, and the companion of the Prophet (peace be upon him) during the Hijra. He was known for his truthfulness, steadfastness, and spending his wealth in support of Islam (he freed Bilal). He assumed the Caliphate (11-13 AH), faced the Wars of Apostasy, compiled the Quran, and directed the armies of conquests. He was also the first of the ten promised Paradise.
