"Moonlight Traveler"
One of the most important Hungarian novels of the modern era, penned by one of the greatest Hungarian and European novelists alike, Szerb Antal, the renowned author, novelist, translator, and literary historian. The novel, first published in Hungarian in 1937, achieved local, national, and international success and has been adapted into films, plays, and TV series. The novel delves into the human psyche, as the hero struggles to return to the past using a time machine and continue enjoying his youth away from marriage, but to no avail. Humans do what is written for them, and they must live it. Our hero, Mihai, tries to escape his married life, but the novel ends where it began. It ends with the sentence, "As long as a human being lives, something will inevitably and always happen," along with other details.
