The science of Hadith terminology has gone through several stages in its emergence and development, as trustworthy scholars have documented, studied and written about it. Ibn Hajar was one of those who took care of this science and produced a huge number of works in the service of this science. He was attested to by enemies before friends that he was one of the people of merit in this great sea. Sheikh Al-Uthaymeen explained this book.

Nukhbat al-Fikr fi Mustalah Ahl al-Athar is one of the books of Hadith written by al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani (773 AH - 852 AH). The author collected and included all the terminology of the science of Hadith that had been written before it and presented it briefly and concisely. Al-Hafiz Ibn Hajar al-Asqalani says in the introduction to the book: “The writings on the terminology of the people of Hadith have become numerous, expanded upon, and concise. Some of the brothers asked me to summarize for them the important parts of that, so I answered his question, hoping to be included in those paths.”
