The book includes extensive documentation of Tolstoy's life, with the author pointing out that the idea of escape is reflected even in his novels, and was an obsession for many of his protagonists. Tolstoy's son was born in 1869 and named after his father. He attempted to become a doctor, writer, sculptor, and political figure, while accepting that he was simply the son of the great writer. However, he never fulfilled these dreams and lived a shattered life, and his father's love turned to hatred.
