Stories of the Prophets in the Torah, the Books, the Psalms and the Songs of Songs

Author's name: Ezra Haddad

It is commonly believed among the followers of the three heavenly religions, which are called the Abrahamic religions, that God chooses a man to whom He reveals concepts of thought and action to guide His servants, so that they may be happy in this life and in the afterlife. Thus, he becomes God’s prophet on earth.

We find in the first religion many prophets, the first of whom was Adam, until God Almighty sent His Messenger and Speaker (Moses, peace be upon him), and His book with which He was sent (the Torah) confirms that many of his ancestors were prophets. As for the second messenger (Jesus, peace be upon him), we do not find in his book (the Bible) anything that states that he is a prophet, nor in what was narrated about him. He did not say that he was a messenger from God, so Christians differed over whether he was God or the son of God, and therefore we do not find prophets in the Christian religion who succeeded or preceded Christ, and thus they do not have books about the prophets except what is found in the Old Testament (the Torah).

As for the third and final Messenger (Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him), it was narrated from him, and it was stated in the book in which he was sent, the Holy Quran, that he is (the Seal of the Messengers), so he is the Messenger of God. Therefore, you find that the stories of the prophets are mostly Jewish in origin, vision, and sources. As for the stories of the prophets in Islam, their sources are the Holy Quran, the Noble Prophetic Hadith, and the rabbis. This led to the introduction of opinions that do not agree with the Islamic Quranic concepts.

This book was written for students of Iraqi Jewish schools. The author went beyond many myths and wrote within the limits of the concepts of the Holy Quran and the Noble Prophetic Sunnah. His book is one of the most beautiful books of stories of the prophets. He translated them directly from the Torah, the books, the Psalms and the Hebrew hymns into Arabic, deleting from them the ideas and concepts that Muslims do not accept from the text of the Torah. This is a favor from Professor Ezra Haddad to avoid any kind of religious sectarianism and fanaticism regarding religious thought.
