"Al-Jami` al-Musnad al-Sahih al-Mukhtasar min Umur Rasul Allah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam wa Sunanihi wa Ayyamih," famously known as "Sahih al-Bukhari," is one of the most prominent books of Hadith for Sunni Muslims. It was compiled by Imam Muhammad ibn Ismail al-Bukhari, taking him sixteen years to edit. He selected its hadiths from six hundred thousand hadiths that he collected. The book holds an advanced position among Sunnis, as it is one of the six books considered among their primary sources of Hadith. It is the first book compiled of purely authentic hadith and is considered by them the most authentic book after the Holy Quran. Sahih al-Bukhari is one of the "Jami'" books, which encompass all chapters of Hadith, including beliefs, rulings, interpretation, history, asceticism, manners, and more.

The book gained widespread fame during the lifetime of Imam al-Bukhari, as it is reported that more than seventy thousand people heard it from him. Its fame extended to contemporary times, receiving exceptional acceptance and attention from scholars. Many books were written about it, including commentaries, summaries, annotations, addenda, extractions, and other works related to Hadith sciences. Some historians even reported that the number of its commentaries alone reached more than eighty-two.
