The book highlights the important role played by historians from the Arabian Peninsula in documenting the history of their countries during the twelfth and thirteenth centuries AH/eighteenth and nineteenth centuries AD, amidst diverse political influences resulting from the multiplicity of local political forces, sectarian movements, and external political forces. This is achieved by tracing the motives behind their documentation of their countries' history, which they explicitly and implicitly referred to.
The book also highlights the important role of historians of the Arabian Peninsula, regardless of their sectarian, political, or religious affiliations, in recording histories that have become sources to which researchers can turn, removing some of the ambiguity surrounding many issues, particularly political ones, and highlighting the human activities of the Peninsula's inhabitants.
