These notes, written by Wittgenstein between 1914 and 1951 and edited by von Reit in collaboration with Heike Niemann, were originally published in German as *Schätten* (Miscellaneous Notes). The English translation is titled *Culture and Value*. In these notes, Wittgenstein discusses topics such as religion, literature, art, culture, history, the nature of philosophical activity, genius, architecture, and more. The work helps us understand Wittgenstein's intellectual background and cultural roots more deeply and challenges the narrow philosophical conception of him prevalent in philosophical academia—particularly within analytic philosophy, despite its importance in understanding and studying Wittgenstein—which confines him to purely linguistic and logical matters, neglecting the other dimensions of his work with its rich complexity and multifaceted nature. This book is the fourth translation in the Ludwig Wittgenstein Project, following *On Certainty* (2020), *Notes on Colors* (2024), and *Wittgenstein and the Meaning of Life* (2025).

You may return most new, unopened items within 14 days of delivery for a full refund. We'll also pay the return shipping costs if the return is a result of our error (you received an incorrect or defective item, etc.).
You should expect to receive your refund within two weeks of giving your package to the return shipper, however, in many cases you will receive a refund more quickly. This time period includes the transit time for us to receive your return from the shipper (2 to 4 business days), the time it takes us to process your return once we receive it (1 to 2 business days), and the time it takes your bank to process our refund request (2 to 4 business days).
