Nietzsche's Letters

We present to the Arab reader a selected collection of letters from the German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche (1844 - 1900) to his family, friends, and female acquaintances. These are rare letters he wrote during his life, among other letters, revealing several aspects of his relationships with philosophers, thinkers, creators, and musicians he met throughout his life, which was full of philosophical activity. They also reveal the daily life of this prolific philosopher and his stances on various issues that were of interest to him. These letters unveil Nietzsche the human, his feelings and emotions, his love and anger, his semi-monthly writings to his mother and sister, Nietzsche the human and the artist, music lover and player. They are letters about Nietzsche's pains and sufferings during his journey with an illness that was taking its toll on him. These letters show the reader how this philosopher wrote his personal daily history alongside writing his major works, which are cherished by modern and contemporary philosophical history.
