Ghassan Kanafani wrote "A Bridge to Eternity" for an Arab radio station in 1965, intending it to be broadcast in episodes. However, it was neither published nor broadcast. It is the second of three plays included in his works: "The Door" (1964), "A Bridge to Eternity," and "The Hat and the Prophet," which he wrote in 1967 and was published posthumously.
