The film adaptation, directed by Yadollah Samadi in 2014 and bearing the same title as the original novel, "The Other Boy's Father," was widely acclaimed by audiences and critics alike, successfully rising to the level of dramatic events and classified as a successful family and educational film. This novel is classified as a "psychological novel," narrated by a young man on his twentieth birthday, recalling the painful childhood that left a deep mark on him. It is no wonder that the novel is classified as such; its author is both a novelist and a psychologist. She says she deliberately aimed to highlight the difference between a father's and a mother's love for their children, and the impact this has on the child's personality and upbringing. The author became widely known outside her country, especially after winning the Giovanni Boccaccio Foundation International Literature Award for one of her works. This novel has been translated into several languages.
