“Siddhartha is one of the simplest and most profound books I have ever read.” – Henry Miller
Hesse's famous and moving novel is perhaps the most important allegory produced by our turbulent age. Hesse blended Eastern and Western spiritual traditions with psychoanalysis and philosophy. This simple and eerie tale, written with deep compassion for humanity, has touched the lives of millions since its publication in 1922.
Siddhartha is the story of a young man who searches for the ultimate truth and meets the Buddha. His quest takes him from a life of decadence to asceticism, from lust, wealth, and fame to wisdom and renunciation.
The most important and beautiful novel by Hermann Hesse, winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature, translated by Samir Gerges, faithfully and beautifully.
