While the Arab world stands on the threshold of scientific thinking, questioning the feasibility of its application, the West is witnessing tremendous civilizational progress, the result of its reliance on organized and systematic thinking for more than four centuries. Therefore, we will not be able to guarantee our future survival unless we adopt this thinking. From this perspective, Fouad Zakaria calls for scientific thinking to occupy a prominent position not only among those working in scientific disciplines, but also among ordinary people in everyday life. The truth is that our stance on scientific thinking is blatantly contradictory; while we honor the works of early Islamic scholars, we reject science and the progress it has achieved in our time. The historical connection of science to the West does not negate its exposure to risks and threats. Contemporary economic institutions employ science in exploitative ways that negatively impact human life, while political entities produce nationalist and ideological claims that undermine the vitality and movement of science. However, hope remains in international institutions that care about science, and that are entrusted with unifying human efforts to advance science and achieve rapprochement between nations.
