From postmodernism to post-postmodernism

This book attempts to answer a pivotal question: What has become of postmodernism? Has it faded away as a guiding model, or has it merged and become integrated into other models that have emerged in contemporary theory?
Since the late 1980s, theories about the death of postmodernism have emerged, with writers proclaiming its demise. However, a clear shift has occurred in the academic debate surrounding the death of postmodernism. Instead of continuing to argue about its end or its continued existence, thinkers have turned their attention to what comes after it, to what is termed the era of loss of control and the reshaping of globalization. This era has witnessed the rise of new guiding paradigms in the general Western mindset, most notably "post-postmodernism" and "meta-modernism."
This book examines these two trends and other deeply influential trends in the fields of humanities and contemporary social sciences.
