Notes on Recovery and Post-Depression

Have you ever sat in the dark for a long time, and when you see the light again, it's so bright that your eyes don't get used to it until after a while? And in the midst of that process, it's very possible that the way you look at the same things around you will change. Like a young child with poor eyesight, only a few years old, who certainly doesn't realize their vision is weak, so they don't complain or ask for help. And when they wear glasses for the first time, they see clearly, after spending the first years of their life believing that it was normal for colors to be faded and for things to be completely indistinct. I firmly believe that there are no constants in anything, neither love nor hate is constant. Feelings don't last; in fact, they can disappear or be created from nothing. Today you are infatuated with this person, that song, this color, that company, and tomorrow you are in love with someone else, and another part of another song. Today you lean towards a new color and new friends. You are now suffering greatly from loss, and you are also the one who will laugh heartily later. And you thought that they were everything to you, and that there was no life after them. Whether you know the reason for the change or not, it has happened and will continue to happen, and it will not stop happening. And so is the journey we take in understanding the world, and in walking towards the unknown; for we naturally love to write down dreams, plan things, make schedules, underline headings, number tasks and pages, and add dates to them.
