Leo Tolstoy wrote this book in defense of Islam against the falsification and fabrication of Islam and the Prophet Muhammad by missionary associations in Kazan, who misrepresented the religion of Islam and accused it of false accusations. Leo Tolstoy presented the argument and established proof against the claimants by selecting a group of hadiths from the Prophet, citing them after a clear introduction in which he stated: The teachings of the founder of Islamic law are lofty wisdom and sublime sermons that guide humanity to the straight path, and are no less than the teachings of the Christian religion. Muhammad is the founder and messenger of Islam, a religion followed by two hundred million people across the globe (at the time of writing). At the end of his book, Tolstoy promised to write a larger book titled "Muhammad" in which he would explore more topics.
