The joy of contemplation

One of life's greatest pleasures is that which I find in contemplating the verses of God Almighty, delving into their depths, extracting their treasures, and then connecting them to reality. I find an answer to every question and a solution to every problem—divine answers and solutions, infallible and free from error. Absolute truths, untouched by falsehood from any direction. I see the verses rescue me from the confusion of conflicting thoughts, strengthen me in difficult situations, and soothe my heart when fears assail it, like a rope extended from heaven, a light illuminating the darkness of life. I dedicate this book to you, my Muslim brother and sister, to help you extract the treasures of the Quran as you read it, and to cultivate within you the ability to connect it to reality and to seek guidance from it when minds go astray.
