Muhammad Labib al-Batnuni (d. 1938) was an Egyptian traveler and historian. Al-Batnuni undertook numerous journeys and tours throughout Europe. He visited Spain in 1926 and witnessed the landmarks of Muslim civilization there. During his trip, he sent a series of letters to the Egyptian newspaper Al-Ahram, meticulously documenting his travels and providing detailed descriptions. The newspaper published these letters in a series titled "A Tour of Spain." Al-Batnuni compiled these letters in this book to present the reader with a comprehensive picture of Andalusia, its past and present, and the civilization whose rise was magnificent and whose fall was bitter. The book also includes a collection of photographs of the magnificent monuments left by the Arabs and Muslims in Andalusia.
