Childhood cannot be happy unless the correct belief is instilled. The foundations of the correct Islamic belief are: belief in God, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Last Day, and in destiny, both good and bad. From these six foundations stem everything that must be believed in regarding matters of the unseen, and everything that God and His Messenger have informed us of. Part of belief in God Almighty is that we believe in everything that He has obligated and imposed upon His servants, foremost among which are the five pillars of Islam, which are: testifying that there is no god but God and that Muhammad is the Messenger of God, establishing prayer, giving zakat, fasting Ramadan, and pilgrimage to the Sacred House of God for those who are able to do so, and others. This is one of the obligations established by the pure Sharia. Instilling the correct belief in the souls of children must occur in a calm and beautiful manner that suits the child's mental and intellectual abilities, takes into account his psychological and emotional state, addresses his mind and heart, and combines legal principles with practical ideas. We will not succeed in instilling the correct Islamic belief unless we employ the Islamic method in instilling it; we begin by relying on the Book of Allah Almighty and the authentic Sunnah of the Prophet. As a step on this path, we present this educational series, full of practical ideas and purposeful stories, which are based on the Islamic faith. In this story (O Grandmother, why do we learn?), children will learn with Hassan the ten secrets of learning. When our children know them and act upon them, they will love knowledge and strive to learn more and more, to benefit themselves, their families, and their nation, until Allah raises their status in this world and the hereafter, and on the Day of Resurrection they will be among the scholars, and enter Paradise with Muadh ibn Jabal, may Allah be pleased with him, and other good scholars.
