



Al-Muzhir fi 'Ulum al-Lugha wa Anwa'iha (The Luminous in the Sciences and Types of Language) is a linguistic and literary book authored by Abd al-Rahman ibn Abi Bakr ibn Muhammad ibn Sabiq al-Din al-Khudairi al-Suyuti, born in the year 849 AH. The book encompasses fifty types or sciences of language; eight relate to language in terms of attribution, thirteen relate to language in terms of words, thirteen relate to language in terms of meaning, five relate to language in terms of its subtleties and anecdotes, one type relates to preserving language and documenting its unique terms, eight relate to linguists and their narrators, one type relates to the knowledge of poetry and poets, and one type relates to the knowledge of Arab errors.
