Salvatierra suffered a serious accident when he was nine years old, which left him unable to speak. At the age of twenty, he began drawing his diaries on canvas rolls, eventually comprising sixty rolls, four kilometers long, without borders or boundaries: successive rolls that mimic the endless flow of the river separating the Argentine town from Uruguay.
But when his sons return to town after his death, they find only fifty-nine scrolls in the warehouse where their father worked. In their search for the 1961 scroll lost between Argentina and Uruguay, the brothers discover family secrets they never imagined.
