Sahih al-Bukhari
Author: Abu Abdullah Muhammad ibn Ismail al-Bukhari
"Al-Jami' al-Musnad al-Sahih al-Mukhtasar min Umur Rasulillah Sallallahu Alayhi Wasallam wa Sunanihi wa Ayyamih," famously known as "Sahih al-Bukhari," is the most prominent book of Prophetic Hadith among Muslims of the Sunni sect. Compiled by Imam Muhammad ibn Ismail al-Bukhari, it took him sixteen years to edit and compile its hadiths from a collection of six hundred thousand hadiths. The book holds a prominent position among Sunnis, being one of the six canonical books considered primary sources of hadith. It is the first book compiled exclusively with authentic hadiths and is considered by them to be the most authentic book after the Holy Quran. (1) Sahih al-Bukhari is one of the "Jami'" books, which encompass all branches of Hadith, including creeds, rulings, exegesis, history, asceticism, manners, and others.
