"The World from a Western Perspective" is an attempt to discuss a highly important methodological and intellectual issue, presented by Dr. Abdelwahab El-Messiri. Since the end of the 18th century, what is known as "cultural invasion" began, which is the Western man's attempt to impose his models on the peoples of the world. These models proved useful in the Western world in economic and political fields, but they have their dark and destructive sides in other areas. Every society has its biases, but what happened is that many peoples of the world began to abandon their biases stemming from their historical, human, and existential reality, and began to adopt Western biases, thus starting to view themselves from the Western perspective. This book is divided into two parts. In the first part, El-Messiri discusses the issue of bias, reviewing the bias towards the materialistic epistemological model associated with modern Western civilization. In the second part, he attempts to present an alternative model. Dr. Abdelwahab El-Messiri sounds an early alarm bell, because if we do not pay attention to the seriousness of the civilizational invasion that undermines us from within and without and destroys our identity, our civilizational forms, and our cognitive and value systems, we may survive not as a coherent entity with a defined identity, but as an outer shell with no substance."
