AuthorImam Abu Abdullah al-Bukhari
The original book is Sahih al-Bukhari, which contains 9,082 narrations and holds a great position among Sunni Muslims, as most consider it the most authentic book after the Quran. The narrations mentioned in it include hadiths that do not meet Al-Bukhari's conditions, known as Mu'allaqat (hanging narrations). These are narrations that Al-Bukhari cited to show follow-ups and differences in chains of transmission, as well as repeated hadiths. The abridger removed these narrations in his abridgment, keeping only the most complete narration of the hadith and also omitting their chains of transmission, limiting it to the companion. His purpose was to make it easier to access the hadiths in Sahih al-Bukhari. The book "Al-Tajrid Al-Sarih" contains 2,254 hadiths in its most complete editions, which is less than the number of non-repeated hadiths in Sahih al-Bukhari, which is 2,602.
