Uncle K.'s Dream is the first novel Dostoevsky wrote after his release from prison in Siberia. The novel begins with the arrival of Prince K. in Mordasov and his departure from the house of Maria Alexandra Venamo Skaleva, the most important woman in the region. Uncle K. only spent three days in Mordasov, but this short stay left inevitable memories that cannot be erased! Add to that the fact that the prince's visit caused a revolution in the city, and the story of this revolution will undoubtedly be the most important page in Mordasov's history. His relationship with the Mordasovs, who seemed to him a light-hearted, comic character, some accepted him, others did not, and he began writing comic plays that revived the glory of Vyzin, Griboev, and Gogol. I have been very light-hearted in the past, and I even wrote a faux-faux-vaudeville play with wonderful singing pieces. However, this play was never performed. The events of the novel continue until Mrs. Maria Alexandrovna Moskaleva arranges the marriage of her daughter to the prince. Maria Alexandrovna was driven by her genius, so she prepared a large project in part: she will marry her daughter to a rich man, to a dying prince... But Zina soon confessed to the prince: “My mother and I deceived you, O prince. My mother deceived you by making me agree to marry you, and I deceived you by accepting this marriage. We got you drunk, sang and acted before you to plunder your money... and steal your fortune and your title... This is a despicable act, so forgive me...” In this atmosphere, the events of the novel take place, and through it Dostoevsky depicted a picture of the social and spiritual life of Russia in the eighteenth century, which ultimately expresses the writer’s philosophy and vision of life, until he became one of the best Russian writers of his time.
