Oscar Brenifier is a doctor of philosophy, coach, consultant, and author. After a long experience teaching philosophy in secondary education, he created the concept of "philosophical practice" from a perspective that combines the practical and the theoretical.

With Isabelle Million, he founded the Institute of Philosophical Practices in 1995, to promote philosophy as a practice in society and as a source of intellectual education. The institute organizes workshops for children and adults in schools, cultural centers, prisons, workplaces, and elsewhere.
Brenifier has written more than thirty books on philosophy, and his works have been translated into more than thirty languages. He also contributed, as an expert, to UNESCO's report "Philosophy, a School of Freedom," and participated in organizing international conferences on new philosophical practices."
