تتنقل أحداث الرواية بين بيروت وطرابلس وروما وباليرمو، وتسلّط الضوء على الهجرة والفساد والأزمات الاقتصادية، وما قد يواجهه الإنسان حين تدفعه الظروف إلى طرق لم يكن يتخيّل يومًا أن يسلكها.
