The book "Diary of an Investigative Journalist" recounts the professional life of its author, Seymour Hersh, as an investigative journalist who exposed numerous local and international issues. Over 480 pages divided into 19 chapters and an introduction, the author recorded the milestones of his life, starting from working with his father and taking on family responsibilities after his father's early death. He completed his studies at the University of Chicago and moved from working at a local weekly newspaper in his city to the Associated Press, then to the New York Times, and finally to The New Yorker. The culmination of this experience was a number of important books in which he exposed the policies and lies perpetrated by successive governments, starting with the Vietnam War, the My Lai massacre, the crimes of overthrowing legitimate governments in Central America and Kissinger's role in them, and touching upon the Watergate scandal. Hersh covered the war in Afghanistan following the September 11 terrorist attacks, the disgraceful role of the Bush/Cheney administration, and exposed the flimsy stories and justifications for the invasion and occupation of Iraq. He revealed the crimes of American soldiers related to assassinations and brutal torture in Abu Ghraib prison, and finally published a book on the killing of Bin Laden and intervention in Syria, which Dar Al Arabiya Lil Oloom Publishers translated and published.
