This is an educational book that meets the needs of those enrolled in courses to improve their recitation of the Holy Quran. The desired goal of its composition is to facilitate the teaching and learning of the rules of Tajweed, based on the primary sources of Tajweed science, and to benefit from the facts that the science of linguistic sounds has reached regarding the nature of the linguistic sound and how it is produced and its diversity.
This section defines the science of Tajweed and outlines its principles, explaining how to pronounce linguistic sounds and their characteristics, the function of the vocal organs, and the points of articulation and attributes of letters. It then explains the rules of Tajweed for vowel sounds: thinning and emphasis, assimilation and its types, and the rules of lengthening and shortening. It concludes with an explanation of the complements to proper Tajweed recitation, namely the rules of pausing and starting, and related matters concerning the script of the Quran.
