Poetry is more of a personal taste than a linguistic composition. It moves from the realm of grammar and morphology to the realm of feeling, and from the realm of prose to the realm of vocal rhythm. I know that Al-Khalil ibn Ahmad established the science of prosody and excelled and innovated, and his unique genius was revealed in it. But here I wanted to break the stagnation that has dogged this science for a thousand years, so I divided the meters into nine meters, reduced the zihāfāt, and abbreviated the metrical feet to five. I know that I have taken a path that no one has taken before me, one in which there are many obstacles and surrounded by thorns on every side. So I decided to take the risk and move forward, and I vowed to complete this work with God’s help and guidance, entrusting God with its consequences, believing in the prevalence of imperfection in all human beings.
