Flamenco

The semantic circle in which Yasmine Hanawi moves in her new poetry (Flamenco) imposes a moment of glow that grips the poet/female, so that the dance in its movement is like the waves of the sea in its flow. In this way, the poet highlighted its rotation in her poems, and its prevalence among her vocabulary, that it is a sign of life that reflects the inner emotion governed by the signs of the outside.
From the worlds of the poem entitled "Flamenco" we read:
".....With a crazy honest flamenco dance/ We tear off the black clothes../ And wear a red gypsy dress../ We fly with it above the clouds../ And run in circles towards the airports../ We turn off the piano../ We raise the flute../ And hold on to the guitar moment../ As if we are in a utopia../ As if life is rosy../ As if we are at an evening party/ In the company of all the relatives and the living../ We sing the anthem of love../ And ignore all the nonsense in this mortal world../
Thus, sound is linked to nostalgia for the poet and refers to an idealistic philosophy that enriches meaning and provides the imagination with tools through which existence becomes an entity ignited by love, passion, and tolerance, because everything in this world is fleeting and destined to disappear.
The book includes twenty-nine prose poems under the following titles: “To a Saint,” “Decorate the Meadow,” “The Third Holiday,” “The Lean Four,” “Queen of the Tuareg,” “Chess,” “Santa Claus,” “Repentance,” “Balls of Wool,” “Fairouz,” “A Teddy Bear’s Letter,” “The Twelfth,” “At Noon,” “My Mirror,” (.....) and other poems.
